At OG+S, we’re committed to staying ahead of the curve as technologies evolve — not for the sake of change itself, but because smarter tools help us serve clients better and create a more effective work environment for our team.
In today’s rapidly shifting legal landscape – efficiency, security, and flexibility are critical. That’s why we’ve been actively reviewing and improving our technology stack: ensuring that the tools we use support how we work today, while also positioning us for the future. This effort reflects how much attention OG+S devotes to both client service and internal operations — and how we continuously look for thoughtful ways to improve.
Right now, we’re focused on identifying better ways to collect and manage information that supports both legal and administrative workflows. As part of this process, we’re engaging with team members to understand how existing platforms — including Clio Manage, Clio Grow, ShareFile, and potentially Smartsheet — are performing in practice. What’s working well? Where is there room for improvement? These conversations are essential as we fine-tune our systems.
Another important aspect of this exploration is evaluating how AI tools could responsibly and effectively support our legal work. AI capabilities are advancing quickly, and we’re carefully assessing their opportunities and risks — always with the goal of adding meaningful value to our legal practice and business operations.
Throughout this process, I’ve been able to gain a deeper appreciation for just how much thought and care goes into client interactions at a law firm. I’ve been pleasantly surprised to find that all those law school lectures about client confidentiality are absolutely right: the lawyers here really, really care about protecting client information and ensuring client trust. I’ve also realized that some of my experiences with UI and UX principles are unexpectedly useful — designing processes that are intuitive and easy for our team to navigate ultimately translates into a better experience for clients as well.
This summer has been a great opportunity to reflect on how legal processes work behind the scenes — from the tools we rely on every day to the importance of balancing efficiency with maintaining the human element of legal practice. I’ve learned how much our law firm values communication, responsiveness, and attention to detail in both legal work and operations — insights that will shape how we adopt new technologies.
We look forward to continuing this journey and sharing what we learn along the way. If you have ideas or feedback about innovation and technology in legal services, we’re always eager to hear them — this is a conversation we’re excited to have.
Thanks for reading, Sean
