Sam is OG+S’s Twin Cities-based attorney, serving clients throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, and beyond. Sam’s work with OG+S focuses on helping family businesses, startups, artists, and non-profits unlock their potential through meeting their legal goals. For new businesses and organizations, Sam advises clients on formation strategies to best suit their legal, tax, and operational objectives. Whether it is through trademark, copyright, or trade secret, Sam helps clients, artists, and organizations alike, identify their valuable intellectual property, how to use it, and how to protect it. For clients traversing legal and regulatory challenges, particularly in the fields of data privacy and food and beverage, Sam serves as a trusted friend and navigator. Finally, for Sam’s clients buying, selling, or otherwise contracting with others, he assists through contract drafting, review, and negotiation to identify and mitigate risk, seek favorable terms for clients, and ensure clients understand what is contained within the four corners of each of their contracts.
Prior to his career as an attorney, Sam worked in the tech industry, primarily in quality assurance and regulatory compliance. He is a graduate of University of Wisconsin Law School (J.D.), as well as the University of Michigan (B.A. Political Science and German).
Outside of work, Sam enjoys being outdoors, particularly hiking and biking, as well as spending time with his family – his wife, Meredith, and his daughters, Lily and Josie. He also takes pride in being a member of the Twin Cities community, particularly Northeast Minneapolis, and is a member of Antioch Community Church.
