Introducing Theresa Gresl, Of Counsel

We here at OG+S love being practical (and let’s face it, we also have a big dose of whimsy). While we love big ideas, we love it even more when we can help make big ideas actually happen. To use a patent term, we love to help reduce it to practice. That’s why we are thrilled to have Theresa Gresl join us as an “Of Counsel” patent attorney!

What does “Of Counsel” mean? Well, for us, it means that she is in continual and regular contact with us, but she is not our employee. Or as we like to think of it, we get our patent lawyer cake with extra frosting and she gets to eat it, too.

What does that mean for you? It means that we get to help you with patents. Our IP Paralegal, Jennifer, keeps us all on track. We get to get overly excited about your invention. We can talk about how that fits in with your business strategy, see what contracts and other legal options fit, and, overall, feel really cool to be in the know. Theresa helps prosecute the patent application. She’s already cool. How cool? Check this out.

She has been a registered U.S. patent attorney since 2011, with broad knowledge of life sciences providing a unique perspective in the fields of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and medical devices. Even for the high standards of the law profession, Theresa is an avid (and prolific) collector of degrees. She earned a Master’s (1994) with a PhD (2001) – both in Life Sciences — and added an MBA (2008) and a JD (2011) – all from University of Wisconsin. So she’s a quadruple Badger!

Given that one of OG+S’ Points of Culture is to “Geek out. Continuously learn. Enthusiastically share,” we think that’s pretty cool. Want to know more about patents, Theresa, or how you can be this geeky and still feel cool?  Let us know!
