It is summer, and that means clerkships! Karen is our summer clerk. She is a double Badger, and with a week under her belt so far, she is proving to be absolutely Badger-ific! Learn more about her below.
Karen Perez-Wilson is an alumna of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a rising 2L at the University of Wisconsin Law School. Aside from being a full-time student, Karen is also the small business owner of Your Biggest Flan Desserts. In her free time, Karen enjoys cooking, creating social media content, exploring the outdoors, and trying new restaurants with her partner, Ashley.
Karen is actively engaged in numerous community and campus initiatives supporting social justice issues. She’s a fierce advocate of immigrant rights and works hard to ensure that higher education is accessible to undocumented students.
This fall, Karen will be a part of The Restorative Justice Project. There she will serve the Dane County community and promote restorative practices to help reduce racial disparities in the criminal justice system. Karen also plans to continue her involvement with the Student Bar Association as a 2L Representative, the Latino Law Student Association as their Vice-President of Community Affairs, and as a member of the Women’s Law Student Association, First-Generation Lawyers Association, and QLaw.
Karen is thrilled to be joining OG+S as their summer clerk. She looks forward to building relationships with the attorneys, staff, and clients at OG+S and learning more about IP law!
